Anthony Trivisonno cultivated his exceptional talent and unprecedented compassion when he opened The V'Sonno Salon, Boutique, and Spa, an esteemed Redken & Pureology Elite Salon that goes beyond the artist's calling to give back to the community every day.
Why do you love what you do?
As a stylist, I like the opportunity of changing somebody's look from start to finish. As the owner, it gives me the opportunity to coach, mentor, and teach like-minded and career-minded people how to grow as professionals in our industry and love what they do at the same time.
What advice do you have for aspiring artists?
Always learn from technicians and stylists new and old, whoever they may be. A new stylist right on the floor, you can always learn something from them, and same thing with the veterans in our industry. Never think that you know it all, you need to humble yourself every day.
How did your experience at Brown Aveda impact where you are today?
I would definitely go back to my instructors, and I think the outline starting from orientation really struck a chord with me. It helped me realize that what you put in is what you're going to get out, and if you sit back and wait for things to happen for you it's going to be a lot harder to be successful, so you have to go out and get it.
V'Sonno is committed to The Upside of Downs organization, as well as offering complimentary haircuts to the Downs community. "A simple haircut makes a world of difference for the parents, and the child too. We have to look to the future and do what we can for people," explains Anthony.
