On January 6, 2015, master stylist Teri Kalain opened the ultimate hub for salon and spa services, The Beauty Bar, right in Willowick, Ohio.
Certified with Redken, Pureology, Creative Nail Design, Norvell Sunless Tanning, and Glamd , Teri emphasizes the importance of education and consistent, fantastic results.

Before even earning her Cosmetology license, Teri was already on her way to success through passionate hard work and a strong education.
“When I was still in school, we did cut, color, and full makeup applications, and my model was published in a hairstyles magazine. It was fantastic as a student to be published.”
We caught up with Teri to find out more about her success:
Was it always your dream to be in the industry?
Yes! My dad told me something that I remember to this day that helped me decide to be a hairdresser:
Whatever career path you choose, make sure it's something you would do for free so that it never feels like a job or a chore.
People have walked in having the worst days ever, and for them to sit in my chair and have a few laughs and truly enjoy the work when they leave touches me, it's the best feeling to make people happy. They're not just friends or clients, they are my family, and I truly enjoy going into work every single day.
What inspires you as an artist?
My true inspiration is seeing my associates grow coming directly out of beauty school. I'm teaching these people who will have fantastic careers, and seeing those future industry leaders helping their own clients is my biggest inspiration. They come to the salon to start training and they're so motivated and inspired and they want to do everything, and that feeling has never left me.
How did your Aveda experience impact where you are now?
Brown has helped me a lot: their systems, consultations, I use their schooling almost every day, and I still keep in touch with my educators on a regular basis. If I have a question, I can send a message to Susie and she'll get back to me or point me in the right direction. The school is amazing; they're strict, but I like having set rules and regulations, and my business has grown with some of those same regulations.
